The start of the Alpini trail is located on the Coceanzi – Zapatocco inter-modal road, a few minutes ahead of the start of the Husku trail and not far from the Monumental Chestnut of Pegliano (a tree over 300 years old and 25 meters high, a destination for many hikers).
The trail begins with a rather easy and fast part, followed by a more “rideable” traverse with amazing views of Mount Matajur and the Natisone Valleys. This second section, although with reduced gradients, is equally technical and interesting due to the presence of boulders and roots that challenge the biker’s skill to be overcome without putting the foot down.
After a drop-off followed by a short steep downhill section (marked section – be careful in case of wet ground), the trail becomes easier and more rhythmic with a succession of more and less wide curves that will take you to the end of the trail placed on a forest track.
From this point it is advisable to descend along forest road to the right for about 750 meters until you meet the start of the Lower Guba trail, by which you can descend to the valley at the village of Lasiz.
