The Cava Trail is a short trail that starts from the paved road that leads from Ponteacco to Mezzana, right before the penultimate bend.

The first part of the trail is very fast and follows an old mule track, then turns into a trail full of fixed and stable stones. In the central part the path runs alongside an old quarry (Cava in Italian) and the trail becomes slightly exposed.

In the final part there are some small bends, always on rocky ground. The final canyon is characterized by large and very stable boulders.

The quarry’s draining soil and good sun exposure make it ideal after long rainy days.

The central and final parts have some difficulties so it is recommended  to pay particular attention.
