Sorzint Trail is a long-standing natural trail used by the inhabitants of Cornappo to reach the overhanging town of Montemaggiore. This trail is interesting both from a sporting and landscape perspective.

To get there, you start from Cornappo and take the forest road that leads to the Zaulaca fork. During the climb you are deep in the woods, pedaling on concrete or pebble ramps. Once on the plateau (where we find the path that leads to the Gran Monte) you can finally get ready to enjoy a constant descent to the starting point.

Following the signs you enter a beautiful beech forest that accompanies the rider until you cross the forest road that you have beforehand ridden uphill. After a few meters, you will come across a large boulder on the side of the road which you will definitely recognize. Experienced riders can go straight back into the trail. Otherwise you can stop and refuel at the source (hence the name of the trail) located under the plateau adjacent to the boulder and admire the spectacular view over the valley.

Thanks to the presence of benches and tables you can stop for a snack. From this point to the finish, there is a very draining terrain made up of compact gravel and stones. It ensures grip even in the most extreme conditions.

The path is very varied characterized by curves, against curves, natural sides, valleys, pine forests and much more.

Once you have reached an old stone wall, please take care to an exposed curve which is a few meters ahead. Towards ¾ of the length, there is a landscape very similar to the high mountains where it is necessary to be careful when crossing a small waterstream due to the presence of exposed rocks. Having overcome this obstacle, you can jump into the last part, at the end of which we must pay attention to other boulders protruding from the ground. The trail ends with the arrival on the forest road that you have climbed at the beginning of your ride.

Here you can choose to go down the road or to continue to the left following the “waterfall” signs. This is another trail that can be ridden by bike for a large part but which in the last part, due to a very high slope and narrow spaces, requires you to get off the bike and continue on foot. From here, following the signs, you can reach the waterfall in 5 minutes or continue to the right to connect to the final part of the “Cuarde Trail” and return to the village of Cornappo.

Undergrowth for the first short section, gravel for the rest.

Path very frequented by pedestrians, be careful.

Sorzint Trail is suitable for everyone. Also practicable in adverse conditions thanks to the very draining ground.
